A Roundtable Discussion on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution in Malaysia
The AIAC, in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Malaysian Bar Council's Arbitration Committee is pleased to bring you a joint-webinar titled, Roundtable on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution in Malaysia, on the 6th April 2021 at 10:00 am (MYT).
This roundtable is specifically tailored for the business community, where the speakers will discuss the benefits of resolving disputes through international arbitration and ADR in Malaysia and the region. This session will consider the expertise of Asian arbitrators in handling trade disputes and the AIAC as the preferred arbitral institution for efficient and effective resolution of disputes.
The roundtable will include two interesting panel sessions, with the first session titled, “Are we ready to use Asian Arbitrators for Asian Disputes?”, which will be moderated by Dato’ Nitin’ Nadkarni (LHAG) and will feature prominent speakers including Dr. Christopher To (Gilt Chambers), Lars Markert (Nishimura & Asahi) and the Honourable Justice Dato’ Mary Lim (Federal Court of Malaysia). The second-panel session titled, “Effective and Efficient ADR in the time of COVID-19” will feature Prof. Shen Sibao (University of International Business and Economics), Rajendra Navaratnam (Azman Davidson & Co) and Andi Kadir (HHP Law Firm). The second session will be moderated by the AIAC’s Diana Rahman.
The Director of the AIAC, Tan Sri Datuk Suriyadi bin Halim Omar will also provide welcoming remarks, whilst the Director of MATRADE, Datin Rusiah Mohamed will provide closing remarks.
