Managing Domain Name Disputes in a Transforming Cyberspace [KLRCA Talk Series]
In an increasingly digital world where the internet plays a momentous role, it is imperative to defend and understand the legal implications of owning a domain name. With the implementation of ICANN’s generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) programme, hundreds of new gTLDs are now up and running in cyberspace. The best way to tackle online infringements in relation to these new gTLDs has become a matter of great concern to many intellectual property (IP) rights owners.
As one of the founding offices of the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center (“ADNDRC”), the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (“KLRCA”) has been administering domain name disputes and is accommodating to users’ needs for more online dispute resolution options.
This event undertakes to elucidate the key aspects of handling domain name disputes, incorporating practical perspectives from industry experts. It is an effective forum for participants to exchange views on current and contentious topics on domain name dispute resolution, bringing together in-house counsels, barristers, solicitors, arbitrators, domain name experts, and senior executives of major local and international corporations.
Please join our intellectual property, domain name and information technology experts as they exchange views on salient issues pertaining to online dispute resolution and related issues.
