Malaysia's Maritime Industry: Overview, Issues, Challenges & Outlook
Recent years have been challenging times for the local and global maritime industry. What will 2018 have in store?
Nazery Khalid, the Honorary Secretary of Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM), will draw on his diverse experience in the fields of maritime economics, policy research and consultancy to share his holistic forecast of Malaysia’s maritime scene in 2018. He will discuss the new issues and challenges to be faced by the various players in the maritime industry ecosystem, including ports, shipyards and maritime support service providers, and touch on the opportunities created by the Malaysian Shipbuilding & Ship Repair Industry Strategic Plan and Malaysia Shipping Master Plan.
This talk is aimed at all stakeholders in the maritime industry, including lawyers, in-house counsel, port operators, shipyards and freight forwarders. Pupils-in-chambers and students with a keen interest in maritime studies are also encouraged to attend.
