AIAC September Sports Month 2021 - The Great Sports Debate: The Sequel
Apart from that, to close our AIAC September Sports Month 2021, we are pleased to bring you “The Great Sports Debate: The Sequel”.
For this special debate, the AIAC has invited several up-and-coming sports law practitioners to present their case premised on an all-new sports arbitration moot problem (doping violation and ineligibility ruling by the World Archery Federation to one Rebeka Tarkhan) in a CAS arbitration simulation which will mirror the closing submissions stage before a Three-Member Panel consisting of Mr. Jeffrey Benz (JAMS, 4 New Square), Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil W. M. Abraham (Cecil Abraham & Partners) and Ms. Susan Ahern (The Bar of Ireland & 33 Bedford Row).
Mr. Darren Lai (Richard Wee Chambers) and Mr. Chew Zhen Tao (Richard Wee Chambers) will be the counsel for Rebeka Tarkhan and the World Archery Federation will be represented by Mr. Jagshey Pipariya (Thomas Philip) and Mr. Danesh Thiagarajah (Sports Law Association of Malaysia (SLAM)).
