KLRCA Adjudication Training Programme Kuala Lumpur
Having received a rapturous response when the programme was held up north in Penang back in April 2014, it was time for KLRCA to bring the Adjudication Training Programme closer back home for its second edition of the year. The setting for this latest edition was the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, situated right across KLRCA’s close to completed new state-of-the-art premise – Bangunan Sulaiman which will house all future KLRCA training programmes.
The primary objective of the Adjudication Training Programme is to train future adjudicators and provide these professionals of their respective fields with the necessary skills to conduct adjudication proceedings. Since 2012, over 400 applicants have sat for the course with 293 of them becoming a KLRCA Adjudicator Panellist upon declaring interest and having met the requirement standards.
That trend is set to continue as a fresh batch that comprised of 27 aspiring adjudicators took their places in the classroom to immerse themselves through five solid days of absorbing lectures and engaging tutorials that concluded with a series of examinations on the last day.
The lectures were broken down into five units; Unit 1 (The Application of Statutory Adjudication to the Construction Industry), Unit 2 (The Practice and Procedure of Adjudication under CIPAA 2012), Unit 2A (CIPAA Regulation), Unit 3 (The Fundamentals of Construction Law), Unit 4 (The Construction Process) and Unit 5 (Writing an Adjudication Decision). Familiar and eminent faces from the construction law industry; Ir Harbans Singh, Lam Wai Loon and Chong Thaw Sing were on hand to guide the aspiring adjudicators throughout the entire comprehensive course.
The next edition of the KLRCA Adjudication Training Programme is scheduled to take place sometime December 2014 / January 2015. More details to follow.
*Effective 25th August 2014, KLRCA will be in operation at Bangunan Sulaiman
